Das Gebiet des Mont\u2019e Prama entspricht einem leicht ellipsenf\u00f6rmigen Kalksteinplateau.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Der Ortsname verweist darauf, dass die dortige Landschaft keine Kulturlandschaft war und sich dort Zwergpalmen verbreitet hatten, wobei der Landbau dort wahrscheinlich im Mittelalter und dann aufgegeben worden war.<\/h4>\n

Die ersten schriftlichen Erw\u00e4hnungen des Mont\u2019e Prama stammen aus dem 17. Jh., als der Kapuzinerm\u00f6nch Salvatore Vidal als erster von der Existenz eines antiken Zentrums am Mont\u2019e Prama als eine der vierzig befestigten St\u00e4dte (oppida<\/i>) der Sinis-Halbinsel berichtete.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Im 20. Jh. berichtete dann Antonio Taramelli 1929 in der arch\u00e4ologischen Ausgabe der Karte Italiens in der Skala 1 zu 100.000 von Siedlungen in diesem Gebiet, wobei er die Nuraghen Cannevadosu und Sa Tiria sowie eine Nekropole aus hellenistischer und r\u00f6mischer Zeit erw\u00e4hnte.<\/span><\/p>\n

Das arch\u00e4ologische Gebiet wurde 1972 von Silvano Ibba, einem Studenten von Giovanni Lilliu, im Rahmen seiner Diplomarbeit zur arch\u00e4ologischen Katalogisierung der mittleren und s\u00fcdlichen Sinis-Halbinsel identifiziert.<\/p>\n

In den 1970er Jahren entdeckten zwei Bauern beim Pfl\u00fcgen die ersten Skulpturen.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
